You bring me flowers because you know I love roses and tulips. You come out with me for those early morning sunrises and take me for those evening sunsets because you know I love them. Your eyes, always following me, seems like, they had vowed to never leave my sight. You look at me with such grace, like, I’m the best thing that has ever happened to you. Holding me in your arms, your hands tracing my collar bones and then my shoulders and then my spine. With a peck on my forehead, your whisper in my year that you love me.
I do not reply.
I do not revert back to any of this. I keep mum. I hold my heart back to fall for you. It’s like, to my heart, I have left no doors or windows open. You try so hard to break in but in vain.
I apologise but I can’t help it. I wonder if you’ll be able to consume my love, if you’ll stand up to me. My love is like cherry blossoms, when it blooms , it is all over the places. My love is blushing like a red tomato when you look at me. It is not gullible at all. It is not just nachos and mayo dips that I’ll just share with anybody. It is my individual whipped cream and ice cream cake. Ofcourse it is not perfect. It has its vivid share of nuts and raisins, and thus the rough and smooth makes it beautiful, doesn‘t it? I’ll surely stumble and fall but I promise I’ll get up and crawl. I will be the one with you at 3 am and 3 pm, 10 am and 10 pm.
My love is not restricted. It is not limited to fondant cake and chocolate chip cookies. It extends beyond strawberry shortcakes and sweet breads. Trust me when I add butter to our cake, and I shall trust you when you put the cake to bake. My love is only for you and you shouldn’t put us on stake.
I will watch you sleep and fall for you everytime. I will watch you eat and fall for you again. And I will do that for a life time.
I wonder amidst this world of burgers and fries, will you be able to digest this plate of blueberry cheesecake I will offer. I promise to give you lemon tarts too.
